I looked at the code and there's so many race conditions that I don't actually know what's going to happen tracing through. Try disabling the disable (see image below)

Looking at the code again, that won't be enough. Create an event case for "Num samples" value change that effectively stops and starts your stream for you automatically. It's a hack but so is the exisiting stop mechanism for streaming.

yeah the property node with disable structure is just to enable the drop down of the no. of samples
