nimxs.exe 50%cpu when idle

Solved!
Go to solution

I have several machines that I use for dev. While insatlling LV2013, I noticed that my old Dell (running Win XP) still ran LV2012 (NOT 2012 SP1) so I figured I would upgrade that first. Installed 2012 SP1 and the f4 patch and the latest device drivers (never even got to 2013 on that machine).

Now bootup seems to take a lot longer, and nimxs.exe imediately uses 50% of the CPU - with no applications open. I saw an older post - over 5 years old, that suggested this could possibly be something carried over from an older version of NIDAQmx, maybe related to shared variables.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

thanks,

To secure the best result, you will want to remove DAQmx and MAX, and install the latest versions of both.  There is no other clear path to fixing the many problems that can arise with nimxs, after upgrades.

Hey John, I am thanking you twice in one night. At least this is an easy to implement fix I can handle.

Thanks again
