lock in amplifier based on NI DAQ card and LabVIEW software

I want to complete a lock-in amplifier based on NI DAQ card and LabVIEW software. Is that possible?  Anyone ever did that? I didn't know the main problems doing this work. Maybe the sample rate of the DAQ card should be high cause the target frequency I want to lock is about 40KHz. Thank you.

Yes, it can be done.  I do not know if it is still available but there was a lock-in toolkit.

You definitely need a high sample rate.  You will need to get multiple samples per period of the signal frequency so that you can get good phase resolution.

Can you give me a example about how to choose the sample rate of the DAQ card? Thank you!

johnsold already wrote you that. You just need to decide what is a good resolution for you. 10 x 40 = 400 kHz ? Or even higher? So I guess a hardware capable of 1MHz sample rate should be ok...
