when i open my daq assistant and open line input, it just searches for supported physical channels forever.

Did you install DAQmx drivers after installing LabVIEW 2013?  Start MAX and open the software section does it show DAQmx installed?  Open MAX and list the Devices and Interfaces, does it show any hardware?
