in place element structure waveform convert units

How can i get the convert units to work within a In Place Element Structure with Add Waveform Unbundle/Bundle Elements.  It says "You've connected numeric data types that have incompatible units."

Waveform Datatypes do not work that way  Y[ ] is always stored "unitless" in the base unit of the units displayed in a Waveform constant on waveform control.  For instance:

OK I tried to find an example and created a waveform with Y[ ] in Gs with a value of 1 then changed the unit to mm and found that the m^2 component of Gs was preserved--- Don't use units they have many "Features" that are less than adequately documented.
