how to open excel to show up on tab in LV

Hello all,

I am trying to have excel open into a container on a tab.  I want users to have the ability to manipulate the excel information (that is what they are used to) but have them do it thru the labview container.  Can this be done?

When I open excel (activex) it opens on its own in its own window.  I want it to open in the labview front panel.

The only choice I could find is to embed a "Microsoft Office Spreadsheet" web component control in an ActiveX container. Since it is a web control, it is more limited in functionality as compared to the Excel application. You can export the controls contents to Excel. I didn't try populating it from an existing Excel spreadsheet, however, so I don't know the effort involved. Here's a screenshot of what the control looks like:

Is NGC short for Northrop?  If so, where at?  I'm in San Diego.
