i need some help in image processing. i have to find the area of a particular region alone in an image, any idea what module i can use?

Post a sample image that shows the region you want to identify. Without such a sample image there is no efficient way of helping you.

i am working on tumour images, i tried morphological operations after thresholding but it doesnt help for all images.

i have attached one such image where the tumour is spread.

Forgive me, but not being an expert in cancer radiodiagnostics I don't know what area in this image is supposed to be the tumor...Could you mark the respective area?

From my experience and without any additional information on the data I strongly doubt that one would be able to programmatically extract the tumor safely from that or any similar image.

Seemingly there has been a lot of research in tumor detection via image processing. This is one document I found in a quick search:

Perhaps it gives you some ideas.
