The problem seems to have gone away for the present. It definitely was occurring with 8.6 though. Its a project that I'm currently working on and saving regularly so I don't keep old copies.
It seems less likely that I'd be able to find anything useful if the problem isn't happening anymore, but if it's not confidential and you don't mind posting, it couldn't hurt.
IN LV2011 this also happened to me when I was working off a fileshare. My PC had lost the connection (using mapped network share) for some reason and then I got this error. When I reconnected and tried to save again it worked fine.
