Are both LV and Windows 64-bits?

@Paul: The version number you refer to is SP1, isn't it?

Ok, just for clarification: By dragging a path, you refer to dragging the path from a Windows File Explorer window to the LV Block Diagram window just like this:

DragDrop.PNG

I tested my LV 2012 (no SP) 32-bit with Win 7 64-bit and it doesnt drop anything. So i would say that i see the behavior you describe. Correct?

Correct,

though it bugs me more that the snippets don't drop as intended.

Yes, SP1. Windows and LV are both 32-bit

From Windows explorer I used to be able to drag a file or folder into a path constant on a block diagram and that file or folder path would drop into the constant. Same thing with snippets. Now I can't. I get a "not" - looking cursor and nothing happens.

As a work-around I can right-click and browse to the file or path (a real pain) but snippets still don't work.

Windows drag-and-drop between windows works fine.

OK, using LV 2012 32 bit without SP running on Win7 64bit, i cannot reproduce this. I will try to get my hands on a machine with SP1 on hopefully both Win7 (32/64bit) and try it there. It really sounds like a bug, but without reproducing it, i will not further comment this 😉

I it working for me.

Windows 7 Enterprice SP1 64 bit

LabVIEW Dev. Suite 2012 SP1 1.01f3 32 bit.

I can drag and drop a file from windows explorer to a path constant on the block diagram and get the path to that file.

I can also drag and drop a snippet to the block diagram to get the code.

PaulG. and I both have LV 2011 SP1 installed besides LV 2012.

Could this contribute to the issue?
