drag and drop not working 2012 and Win 7

Solved!
Go to solution

This used to work, but somewhere along the way I lost the ability to drag and drop file paths and LV snippets onto a LV block diagram. Has anyone else seen this? I don't think it's a windows issue. And it works in LV2011.

Paul,

never seen this, sorry.

Is there a difference if you run LV 2012 "as admin"?

Yes, I run as admin. I need to read/write Excel files.

Paul,

ok, standard support question on Windows: Does this also occur after reboot?

And my question refers to the right click >> Run as administrator option. It was not the question if your login has administrative rights.... sorry for the confusion.

LV snippets import fine for me still in LV2012, and I can still drag files from Explorer to a file path constant.

Yes, it occurs after reboot and when I right-click>run as administrator. I was hoping there was a simple setting that someone here might have recognized right away. I've had some issues running our bastardized "coporate" version of Win 7 "enterprise" with LV but it's behaving the same way on another machine running a generic version of Win 7 pro.

If you are using an AVEO Theme try changing to Windows Classic.  If that allows you to recover Drag-n-Drop I'd love to see a "Jing" of the behavior

Was not running an Aveo theme but a custome theme. Changed to Windows Classic and rebooted but still seeing the behavior.

What kind of LV license do you have? Is it a professional package?

Do you use special settings for fonts?

Hi,

I experienced the same problem today. First time I tried it with LV2012 SP1. Windows version is: 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit.

At first I thought I had a problem with IE - but it wouldn't work from desktop either.

I Have tried it in LV2011 SP1 - works fine.

Regards Florian
