I've upgraded a bunch of systems from Dev Suite 2012 to 2014. NI Device Loader is not showing up in Windows Services for 2 machines; a laptop running WIN XP Pro 2022 SP3 and a desktop running Win 7 Ultimate. The other systems are running Win 7 Pro. I've uninstalled MAX as suggested by http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D1F1D3FC80E4FFDF86256B410059DE31 and reinstalled the drivers. No change.
Currently the laptop has no hardware connected to it so the missing devices and remote systems are from a previous configuration. But it still bothers me that NI Device Loader doesn't exist.
I've enclosed a PPT document showing particulars about the problem desktop.
I've been adviced to reload the drivers from http://www.ni.com/download/ni-device-drivers-august-2014/4818/en/ and http://www.ni.com/download/ni-device-drivers-august-2014/4819/en/. My driver DVD is dated Aug 2014. So what's the difference between the drivers on the DVD and the drivers at the links?
Besides, if it were a driver problem, then why does NI Device Loader show up and run on the Win 7 Pro machines? I loaded the drivers on those machines using my Aug 2014 DVD as well.
