cRIO-FRC

Can an old cRIO-FRC  chassis be used as a remote data collection system?  Don't need to use any of the fancy features of the cRIO system (FPGA, etc.).  I just want to collect data remotely.  Just want to plug in a module and collect voltage data.

Thanks,

Paul.

So the thing is usable without mucking around with FPGA code, there is the NI Scan Engine. This is, I believe, common to all CRIO systems and allows you to simply read inputs like normal DAQ.

You'll need all of the software licensed for this. Typically, this means LV and the RT module.  I've heard you require the FPGA module for the FRC cRIOs even if you don't use the FPGA.  I've never tested this though.

You'll get better help with FRC questions at ni.com/frc using the FRC forums.
