bug: scale with pane

Nasty bug:

One object is set to Scale with pane pain (horizontal slide on example)

Its scaling affects the position of other elements within limits. If other object has something (a label, a grouped decoration) outside the limits, it does not move.

(Thanks daveTW for idea to fix object with grouped decoration - anchor)

Hi Alexander,

It seems that DFGray has suggested that the best practice is to write code to programmatically resize your objects. His detailed comments in the thread you linked and the one he linked go on to discuss the reasons why LabVIEW has this issue.

Also, I see that you've implemented daveTW's workaround in your example VI. While the LabVIEW software engineers are already aware of this behavior, is there anything else you'd like us to help with?

LabVIEW 2015 and I am experiencing the same issue: setting one control to Scale Object with Pane affects other controls as well. I suppose it is fairly easy to go around once you figure it out but oh the gray hairs until that. Bump for a fix!

Still exists in 2016, and it seems that the "use a locked object" trick doesn't work anymore 😞
