base vs full versions

Working on Windows 8.1 laptop.

What is the main difference between the Base and Full versions?

We will be buying the application builder as well.

As far as I know for now, we are just doing basic instrument control over GPIB and RS-232.

The differences are fairly well explained here

By the time you add-in VI Analizer, Unit Test Framework, access to all the on-line training and App Builder you might as well get the Developer Suite. But that's just my opinion ....your case may vary.

The base version is a bit anemic, especially in the math and signal processing department, but it might be sufficient for basic instrument control. (Until recently, the base version did not even have the event structure, but that got changed now :).)

The application builder is only included in professional and above so you would need to purchase that seperately. I guess it will work with LabVIEW base.
