autostart app in linux

Is there a way to automatically add an app to startup in linux, so the app starts automatically, once installed?

I someone could give me an example, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

You don't know how to Google?

And what does this have to do with LabVIEW?

First you need to know how to do it in Linux. If it is possible.

Then write the LabVIEW code to do it. Isn't that what you are suppose to be doing yourself instead of having someone hand you the code already done?

I don't see where LabVIEW is involved anymore than it would be with installing an exe on Windows. The installer places the file in the correct location. It's the os that auto-starts it, not the exe itself.

I thought he meant he wanted LabVIEW which would cause an existing installed program to autostart in Linux.

Either way, he needs to do the work himself.
