In 8.6 there is a feature where you can open a key binding dialog. I don't
recall the exact name, but here is how it works. Press a short cut key
(CTRL-?, don't know which key it is). Then you get a dialog that looks like
the search dialog from the function palette. Press a letter there and the
object that is bound to this letter can be dropped on the diagram. You can
also bind letters to your own VI's, but I think they have to be in your user
lib.
