Why Report Generation Toolkit for Office can NOT be found in LabVIEW 64bit in Windows 10 bit?

Dear all:

I got a message in the National Instruments Product Compatibility for Microsoft Windows 10

http://www.ni.com/white-paper/52818/en/

It says that LabVIEW 2015 64bit in Windows 10 64bit supports NI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office, However I can NOT find  NI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office after installation, why?

I still want to ask When NI can support the NI LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit in LabVIEW 64bit in Windows 10 64bit?

NI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office and NI LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit are two critical toolkits for ATE application, Vision Inspecation Application based on the LabVIEW 64bit+VDM 64 bit has a much more effecience that it is based on LabVIEW 32 bit + VDM 32bit.

If NI can NOT support LabVIEW 64bit+VDM 64bit + NI LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit +NI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office, It hard or impossible to import the Vision inspection application from 32bit to 64 bit platform to got the effecience increase!Smiley Sad

So the first table that I usually suggest is this one showing what versions of the RGT are compatibile with what versions of office.

Interestingly enough Windows 10 isn't listed as a compatible OS, I'm hoping this just needs to be updated.

But yes it appears the database connectivity isn't 64 bit compatible yet.  I know NI has made an effort to make things 64 bit nativeivly compatible but they prioritize things.  Of course that means applications that use a mixture of things like vision, and database connectivity, can't be ported yet.  There is an idea exchange item for this that you can vote for to get more attention.  But I agree completely that it is crazy that after 5 years of running 64 bit Windows exclusively, that this toolkit that seems pretty common, isn't supported yet.

Heck the VI Analyzer just went into beta for 64 bit.

I think the lack of database toolkit for Winows 64bit is because of the shared Microsoft drivers underneath. Microsoft's 32bit version must be removed to install Microsoft's 64bit version.  Maybe someday 32bit support will be dropped (for every application on the PC not just LabVIEW) so that 64bit toolkits can be used.  The Microsoft driver 32bit vs. 64bit situation might also apply to the report generation toolkit for Microsoft Office. Best solution is Microsoft to provide shared drivers that allow 32bit and 64bit to be simultaneously installed and run side-by-side.
