Solved!

I have been unable to find something that either specifically says what version of daqmx to use or if this configuration simply will not work.  I am running Win7 x64 and am using Labview 7.1

Doesn't matter

LabVIEW 7.1 does not have support for Win 7

Readme for 7.1 is here

Software type: Application Software
Operating system: Windows; Windows XP; Windows NT; Windows 2000

And even if you managed to get LabVIEW 7.1 to run under Win 7 x64 you'd still be out of luck, since you'd need DAQmx 8.9.5 to use under Win 7 x64, and that version of DAQmx doesn't support LabVIEW 7.1.

So, either way, it's time for you to upgrade. Or, use an older operating system.

I was afraid of that.  I have been running 7.1 on 7 for a year now but never tried to get my hardware up and running.

Thank you for our help.
