Hey guys sorry for the #ThrowbackTuesday. But I might be able to give you some more information on the matter.
Opening .lvproj files with a text editor is not supported hence the behaviour we see is not guaranteed. Plus as far as the versions, there is no consistent numbering scheme. There have likely been schemes in the past, but they will have probably changed several times.
The best way of getting which LabVIEW version the VI was developed in is GetVersionInfo property node.
