VISA clear: "unknown system error"

Hi!

I am using VISA to communicate with an USB DAC device. When sending standard commands like "*IDN?" everything is fine. When I clear the buffer with the VISA Clear function it response:

VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF0000) Unknown system error (miscellaneous error).

Actually it flushes the buffer of the device but I always the receive this problem. Do anybody have a clue what could be possible reasons for this?

I forgot to mention that when I open the VISA Test panel in NI MAX I have no problems!

Hi there,

Are you sure that the local variable still have the good reference and is not cleared before? Since it is working in MAX I guess the issue is to search in this direction.

What was the resolution on this?  I'm having a similar issue as well.
