Using NI USB 6008 to acquire signal from AD595 thermocouple amplifier

Hi everybody.

I want to acquire thermocouple signal with USB 6008 fro AD595. The IC outputs 10mV/deg Celcius. i want to use differential mode on my DAQ assistant.

The question is how can I connect the IC to USB 6008 (I mean the terminals) for me to get accurate readings on my front panels.  pls find the attachment of the IC.

Select an analog input channel on you 6008, then wire pin 7 common connection to AI- of the channel and pins 8 and 9 to AI+ of the channel.

You may need to use bias resistors for DIFF mode, refer to teh manual of your 6008.

Hi KDGREAT,

You might also check out this KnowledgeBase article to make sure you have your grounding correct for your setup with differential mode (what AK2Dm was referring to with the bias resistors): http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3344 (Field Wiring and Noise Considerations for Analog Signals)

Have a great day,
