Using Mechanical Action - Latch with Key Navigation

I am curious if it is possible to set a key to "latch until released" using key navigation. I have assigned a simple boolean to F1, and set it to latch until released. However when I hold it down, it will turn off and on repeatedly. It is a simple while loop with boolean control inside to an indicator. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

First, why are you using Latch Until Released.  I think that is the one of the six mechanical actions I've never seen a practical use for.

Second.  It has nothing to do with the mechanical action.  It has everything to do with the repeating action you are getting by holding down the function key.
