Updated "Xilinx Compilation Tools are not installed" thread for 2015

Solved!
Go to solution

I have Labview 2015, I need to compile a vi for a Compact RIO 9081 fpga. I get the error "Xilinx Compilation Tools are not installed. Install them using the installation media or download from ni.com".

OK simple enough. What do I download from where? Is there a link?

These Xilinx tools don't solve the problem, which I only found out after downloading all 9 gigabytes:

http://www.ni.com/download/labview-fpga-module-2014/4845/en/

http://www.ni.com/download/labview-fpga-module-2015/5492/en/

Bonus questions: where are the instructions that specify what download links to click on for what hardware?

This KB should list out what compile tools you need for your specific target.

It can be a bit confusing at first glance but you should need the Xilinx tools 14.7 for LabVIEW 2015 which you can download from the following link. It looks like you found the correct Xilinx version but it was for LabVIEW 2015 which is what I would guess is the problem.

You can also try the compile cloud at ni.com/trycompilecloud

PJ,

The last comment in this thread was in February, so you may have better luck getting a response if you create your own thread. That said, what cRIO/FPGA target are you using? Certain targets require a specific version of the tools regardless of LabVIEW version.
