Unable to rename old DAQmx tasks via NI MAX

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I have NI MAX 15.3 and DAQmx 15.1.1 installed.

I'm facing a strange issue. When I try to rename any DAQmx task through NI MAX,I get this error message:

NI MAX DAQmx Task Renaming Error.png

The thing is, the selected name is NOT in use, and doesn't contain illegal characters! (I've tried several names, including "X" and "MyTask"). The same happens to tasks associated with simulated devices as well as real devices.

The other weird thing is, I can create a new task from scratch, and I can rename this task without any problems. However, I'm still prevented from renaming any of my old tasks.

I suspect some kind of NI MAX database corruption. How can I find the root cause and repair it?

EDIT: Further sign of corruption: If I delete a "new" task, nothing happens. If I delete an "old" task, NI MAX silently crashes to desktop.

Thanks!

You can reset MAX database using steps in below link: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/2C7480E856987FFF862573AE005AB0D9

Also make sure backup the data and try if it works.

Thanks
