Well, I guess when I had the NI thermocouple cable in my hand with its certain length, beside the USB device, I just took it as a solid, unchangeable starting point 😄

Easy enough to do.  Don't beat yourself up about it.  Why do you think I admit my design mistakes?  Rough lessons deserve forwarding.  Mr Franklin might have said something to that point.
