Testing of IC's in a PCB using LabVIEW

I do agree with NIquist's statement.

 

If people do not Design for Test and do not add the TDI/TDO and otherr signals along the JTAG chain, although you may have hardware components that support JTAG, if they are not inlcuded in the design (signals) then your coverage is limited.

 

The lesson to learn here is to DFT.

 

Yes, LabVIEW (and other languages) are great for Functional Test, but you will not get the same coverage as if it (test coverage) was designed into the product.
