Thanks for all your support mike,Sorry mike didnt get you. can you please elaborate it, how do i provide such an option for the user to save file with user entered filename, Or any other alternate is also okay..my aim is to create a new file with some filename when every time user clicks the logging button from the front panel..

OK, I misunderstood. If you want to give the user the option to tell the system where to save the file, there is a File Dialog function on the File I/O Palette (under Advanced File Functions) that will do the job for you.

While writing into the file i included one column for Time..now my problem is i'm not able to get that time column while reading, actually i need one time column along with channels in tabular format.

Just find the VI (in labview 2013) attached.  Please help me out to solve this..
