I am trying to reproduce this issue, did this happen after upgrade to LabVIEW 8.6 and an upgrade of the toolkit? What version of LV did you upgrade from?

my intuition from what happened when mine stopped working tells me that something went wrong with the TDMS buttons that excel displays because they were still there in excel but when pressed nothing would happen.  I can't imagine that a LabVIEW upgrade would have affected anything to do with an excel plugin.  Mine did the same thing and i have never upgraded LabVIEW.  I think its more of an issue with excel and the plugin.

Ok, it doesn't work when I am logged in as a regular user but does work when I am logged in as an administrator. According to IT I am not allowed to work while logged in as an Admin which doesn't help but sounds like there might be a permissions issue or something. When logged in as a regular user the buttons just don't work.

interesting.  if you delete the plug in and then reinstall it as a regular user can you use it again?

Have you tried:

Troubleshooting the TDM Excel Add-In for Microsoft Excel 2007
My dll was located at
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\TDM Excel Add-In\

or

Troubleshooting the TDM Excel Add-In for Microsoft Excel 2000-2003

Try removing the plugin and then adding it back again.

Does this work for anyone?

Have just been through this after a nasty Labview Install,

I went to manage the Add-Ins and it was listed as disabled.

Enabled it and all is well again.
