Actually, the IVI drivers and the LabVIEW code from RSTLVU, all use VISA to send SCPI commands. IVI makes for interchanging instruments without modifying the application programming. VISA makes for interchanging physical interfaces without changing driver code. SCPI makes instrument commands more readable and generalized.

And, the OP was merely writing that had the suggested solution of closing all the References not work - which worked for him since his software ran for a week without issues,

then he was going to make use of RSTLVU's VIs as plan B.

Thanks for the explanations! I think it is getting more clear 🙂 it is just so easy to create a kind of (mis)understanding in my mind based on partial knowledge on all these driver/programming details 🙂
