Signal Generation and CompactDAQ (NI-9263) to output Sine Wave on Oscilloscope

Solved!
Go to solution

I know this should be basic but I am having trouble generating a sine wave using LabVIEW. I have watched tutorials that use the signal generator and DAQ Assistant tools to generate the signal but only graph the result in LabVIEW.  I followed the tutorials as instructed but when I hook up the output from the NI-9263 to an oscilloscope I don't see any signal. It works when I use the DAQ Assistant test run but not when I use the signal generator. Below I attached photos of the setup I used.

Two comments:

  1. You wired a stop to the While loop. Is it possible that the output is just too fast for you to see, and you're not using a single triggering mode on the oscilloscope?
  2. Please upload screenshots (which have a much smaller file size) instead of photographs of your screen (which take much longer to download and use a lot of data compared to screenshots)

Thanks! It was the while loop which is pretty frustrating. Any thanks for the help and I will fix the picture size next time.
