Scale V to EU db reference

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi!

I am integrating acceleration signals to get the displacement but I am getting quite lower displacements than the actual ones. To do so I have to scale the signal to engineering units and I really do not undesratnd the input dB reference [EU]. What's the meaning of it?

I had a look at this post:

http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/SVL-Scale-Voltage-to-EU-1-Ch-vi-Sound-Pressure-Level-Why-does-it/m-p...

but I still cannot really get it.

Thanks!

Hi Cobayatron

This page provides a bit more explanation of what the different inputs of the VI relate to:
http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/372416J-01/sndvibtk/svl_scale_voltage_to_eu/

Hope this helps a bit!

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the link! I've been reading about it from different sources and I think I get it now. Anyhow, it would be easier to create the channel with the appropiate settings from the very beginning and forget about it hehehehe.

I also found a table for reference values in case someone need its:

Thanks again!
