Property and Method Selection ( PMS ) Assistant. New version.

A new version is on LAVA now:

http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?s=&showtopic=2662&view=findpost&p=10812

Also you can download it directly:

http://labhsm.com/PMS_Assistant.zip

For those who don't know what it is all about yet:

WHAT'S NEW

1. Property and method lists are hard coded as
constants now. For LV8 the lists reported by LV8
itself are augmented with all the items that are
listed in LV7 for the same classes. The lists still
may not be complete, though.
2. You can select class now!
3. This version is written with my LabHSM toolkit (I pretty much do all
my applications with it now). So you will need to download and install
it from http://labhsm.com. Please make sure you get the correct version
depending whether you use LV 7 or 8.

NO, you don't need to buy LabHSM license to run this utility. It will
work without any limitations as soon as you install the LabHSM Library
under user.lib

YES, I hope you will get interested in LabHSM and explore it (unlimited
trial period!) and maybe even buy it some day...

WHAT IS IT?

This utility simplifies access to private classes,
properties and methods in LabVIEW 7.0 and higher.
The code is based on and can be traced back to LabVIEW
VI Scripting features exposed in LabVIEW 7.0.
For more information on LabVIEW VI Scripting please
see the LabVIEW VI Scripting forum on the LabVIEW
Advanced Virtual Architects Forums site:

http://forums.lavag.org

After PJM_Labview has published his private class
generator
(http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?showtopic=307&hl=#)
and class hierarchies
(http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?showtopic=2161# and
http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?showtopic=314&hl=hierarchy#)
it became clear how to get access to private classes,
properties and methods. However, it wasn't convenient
enough. This utility makes exploring the Scripting
features easier for the enthusiasts, especially in
Labview 8.

I hope we will see some very useful add-ons to LabVIEW
made by the community developers with scripting
features soon, which will make our favorite
development tool even better, i.e. even more powerful
and usable in a wider range of applications!

Let's hope NI will REALLY make available, document and
start supporting Scripting features soon, even if it
comes as a separate toolkit as they have promised for
quite a while now...
