Pre-trigger data for NI-6133 with hardware trigger and continuous acquisition?

Solved!
Go to solution

I'm using the NI-6133 pxi to acquire data across 7 channels continuously with ai0 as a trigger without problems. The acquisition is hardware triggered. What I need to do is collect a finite amount of pre-trigger data immediately before the trigger is detected.

Without using a software solution is it possible to do this. I have looked at switching to finite acquisition and using the built in reference trigger but that is not suitable for my needs as it just seems to change the first section of data from being 'post trigger' to 'pre trigger'.

A software solution which I already know how to do is the last resort to try and keep down processor demand and to keep hardware triggering.

Using the "Reference Trigger" is the right solution.

So can you please explain a bit more in detail why it's not working properly in your case?
