Percentiles

Hi,

after managing to solve the rest of my enquiries i managed to end up with the following situation:

reading a tdms file which contains time and g values. My target is to create a graph like those i have  seen online which present all the signal and a line that re presents Ln, though the most i manage to do is to get a single value out of percentiles. Measurement was carries out to measure vibration thus Gs and time. Could some one give me an idea how this could be done or if I am doing this the correct way? Do I need to convert my data into dBs( all the data I found has to do with sound measurements...)???

thanks

Re: Percentiles

Can you post the code you have tried so far and a sample TDMS file.  At the very least, get us a sample TDMS file.

In the mean time, you could have a look at the TDMS Viewer VI that is in the TDMS pallet.  It may give you an idea of how to procede.

Re: Percentiles

Hi crossrulz,

I am more than happy to upload my file but it will exceed the upload limit once it is about 44 Mb...all i want is to prduce a graph which shows the data and some horizontal lines that represent the Ln levels...now i found the percentiles but this just returns me a single value...+as i stated in my orginal message i found how to calculate the Ln but this was for sound is it the same for vibration? do i need to convert my data into dBs as I have Gs at the moment...

Thank you for your time!

Re: Percentiles

Hi Arise,

How are you getting on with your data manipulation?

Do you require any more assistance? Although, I think it would be good to have a little more clarification about what you are trying to achieve.

You stated "My target is to create a graph like those I have  seen online which present all the signal and a line that re presents Ln"... can you post a link or an image so we can see what you are trying to achieve from your graph?

Could you also elaborate one what units you are trying to convert? Do you know the conversion equation? Do you need assistance making the conversion in LabVIEW?

As CrossRulez suggested, sample data would be useful (it wouldn't need to be the complete 44Mb file... just a subset of the data would suffice).

And, I wanted to echo CrossRulesz comment... the TDMS Viewer VI is a neat (and quick) means of verifying the data you have recorded to disk.

Best wishes,
