Open DataSocket for Write on localhost gives error code 1179

Hi!

I try to connect to a TCP Socket on my local host at port 20000 via LabView. My intention is to write over this socket. However, the Open operation generates an error.

I can connect to this host and port via for example Ruby, so the socket is possible to set up. I have tried this with a newly rebooted computer, but always get the same error.

I use Win XP with LabView version 8.6.1f1. I have read about developers having similar issues on different forums, but never found any soltuion to this more than it might be a bug. (In that case, is there a patch or work around?)

After banging my head on the same issue for far too long, I discovered the problem. I thought I'd post it here for the next poor sap:

The URL needs to be "dstp," not "http."
