Not able to count edges on 6624

Hi , 

I am trying to count the edges using 6624. I am giving an external signal through a frequency generator (50 % duty cycle and 100 Hz) , to the source input of counter 0 , I think it is PFI 39 , but I am not able to read any counts on it. It is always reading 0.

Is there anything I am missing ?

I think the source terminal would be if you wanted to use an external clock source. Try wiring to the gate (PFI 38+, pin 3).

I tried that too , wired it to the gate , no response ....

I am trying to run through the example labview code (vi) that came with labview 2012 package  It is in the DAQmx folder and is called " Count edges.vi".

Additionally , I also tried running thru DAQmx test panel , still no response.
