No RIO detected

I have just purchased Labview Embedded Platform kit ( NI-RIO). It came with a dvd for NI-RIO 8.6 but I have Labview 2012 installed on my system. When I connected my board with ehternet cable, the device manager plus project project explorer is not detecting the board.
Help needed

I'm a little confused because there was never a RIO 8.6 (used to be 4.x and then synced with LV versions).
