NIMAX two USB cameras simultaneously

Hello,

I am using two USB cameras of thorlabs (DCC1645C and DCC1545M). I want to use them simultaneously but NIMAX doesn't open the two of them, just the first that I connect.

I have tried to change the device ID with the uc480 manager, and when I do that, the camera which has the ID:2 is not reconized by NIMAX. Maybe I need to change also the ID somewhere on NIMAX, but I didn`t find.

Hello Pablo,

NI-IMAQdx use directshow to communicate with USB cameras. USB cameras that uses the same USB controller to USB communication are recognized as the same camera by IMAQdx, maybe it is your case.

maybe the Thorlabs driver can differenciatte the two cameras but directshow can´t. Once NI Driver use directshow to recognize the cameras if directshow cannot differentiate the cameras the NI driver can´t do it too.

On this cases the better is use cameras from different vendors.
