NI opc server Vs Kepserver OPC server - client connection

Hello

I've worked with Kepserver opc server from 4.1 to actual 5.16 version, connecting from embarcadero/delphi software (Kassl Dopc client)

with no problem at all, in demo mode and with license.

I've worked also with this client, with many others opc server (Siemens, Phoenix,...)

now i have to connect to a NI opc sever instead of a kepserver opc server and, when i try to connect, i have immediately, an error message.

'class is not licensed for use'

while i have no errors with Kepserver opc server v5.12.

Both are in demo mode (2 hours working)

is there a limitation for clients in ni opc server?

Ni opc server only works with Ni client?

Any help is really useful

Thanks in advance

Hi!

Have you installed the DSC Module? This is required for comunicate with NI OPC Server.

Ettoz,

I am not sure of exactly what you are trying to do, but you are correct in saying that you must use an NI OPC Client to access an NI OPC Server but the NI OPC Client should be able to access any OPC Server.

As far as needing the DSC Module to communicate with the NI OPC Server you should be able to use Datasockets to accomplish this if you want to.

Clients have to be OPC UA complient. Are you using a classic client?
