For MAX to see them, you may need the LabVIEW-compatible Driver.  Can you tell us more about the device that MAX doesn't see?  Like its name and identifying numbers?

LabVIEW MAX does see them on other machines.

Also, they are simple USB / RS-232 interfaces using Prolific and FTDI.

Do those other machines have drivers by Prolific or FTDI?

Sigh.  This is a slow process -- and does your machine also have these drivers?

Yes, both machines have both drivers.

Both have current updates.

Sorry, that's a real puzzle!  If you figure it out, please post the solution and enlighten us -- sounds like you did all the Right Things and it Should Work (Famous Last Words) ...

The version of MAX is irrelevant. What version of NI-VISA is installed?

Uninstalled all LabVIEW.

Installed LVRTE2014SP1 Run-Time Engine.

Tried running Stand alone executable (from Builder). No Luck.

Can I get MAX without Development Software?
