My project will only build an EXE in 8.5 but not 8.6, 2009, 2010, or 2011

2 strange things i've encountered that could be related:

Once i couldn't build an .exe due to a diagram disable structure. That probably was related to the optimization in the compiler.

Another problem sounded like yours, but a Mass compile on the folders managed to find some corrupt vi's. Removing/changing them  solved it.
