Measurements I/O pallete empty, NI Max not working after updates to Windows 8.1 and LabVIEW 2013 SP1

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi all,

I have recently performed a load of updates to both Windows 8.1 and LabVIEW 2013 SP1 after finally getting my internet connection back (Hurray!!), but now am no longer able to get any items in the Measurements I/O palette. The NI Max programme is also not working correctly, it displays nothing under Devices and Interfaces, when I click on the arrowhead to expand the tree it says "searching" briefly before returning to "Devices and Interfaces" but without the arrowhead to expand. It also does nothing when I right click on it, instead of giving me the option to create new.

I have included a screen shot of the pallete and NI Max in the attachment.

Any help you can give me to solving these (possibly linked?) issues would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Bapa,

did you also install the device drivers that came with LV2013(SP1)?

Best regards,

Did you already re-install NI DAQmx?

Is it possible that Windows 8.1 firewall is blocking DAQmx?

Hi Guys,

I have fully re-installed LabVIEW Development System, including all drivers.

Checked my windows firewall settings and ensured that all NI software were allowed through.

Thanks

Hi Bapa,

your MAX software tree doesn't show any device driver components (like DAQmx, VISA, …).

So again I suggest to install DAQmx…

Reinstalling DAQmx worked a treat! Smiley Very Happy

For anyone else with this issue, the link is: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-daqmx-14.1/4953/en/
