Measure weight & speed using waveform obtained

Hi there. Does anyone know how to obtain the weight and speed of an object by using the waveform obtained from the oscilloscope when we roll the object over a fibre.

Weight would be difficult to measure, since amplitude will vary with many other parameters, but you could try to mapping amplitude with weigth.

For speed, you should use 2 fibers, and speed = distance between fiber/time between peaks.

okay i will try on the measurement of speed. thank you. but what do you mean by mapping amplitude with weight?

Experiment with different weights noting the amplitudes you get. From this data you may be able to find a formula that gives you weights corresponding to amplitudes. As was hinted at earlier though there may not be a direct formula. For example, the speed the weight is travelling at may impact the amplitude you read.
