Maximum number of Com Port

I am using LV 2009, Visa 5.1 installed in my PC(x64) and want to access number of serial com port.

I want ot access 400 com ports which are defined virtually, can be parallely or individually.

but i am able to access till COM256 only.

I have checked in LV MAX then it is showing till COM 156 only and i am not able to create new ones also.

Is there any way i can do it or some limitation is there.

It appears to be a OS limitation. Check the document below.

Even if this KB doc is referred to NI VISA 3.3 and Windows XP, it doesn't appear to have changed.
