I am getting the following errors when I try to open up MAX:

The niVISAui.mxx plug-in caused an exception in the CmxProviderWrapper::Finalize function in the NIMax process.

The exception occurred in the NIMax process in the function CmxExecutionThreadPool::DoWorkNonUI.

I have tried repairing MAX software unsuccessfully. How to fix this issue ?

Thanks

Hi Jeet,

WHat version of Daqmx are you using? Other people with the same problem have solved the error by installing the latest version of Daqmx.

I'm not sure what version of MAX you are running, but you may want to upgrade to 5.5.

DAQmx version is 9.6.0. MAX version is 5.3.3

NI System Configuration Runtime 5.3.3

Even though NI-MAX does not open up and giving me errors, I opened up labview and placed a DAQmx reset device VI and connected a constant at its input. The constant does show all the daq cards (connected in my PXI sytem) in the labview.

What does this mean ? Can I continue with the development even though the MAX does not open up ?

Another NI engineer recommended trying to install the NI System Configuration utility (http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/4086/lang/en )

since it does appear that drivers are currently working correctly. This installer includes MAX and a few other utilities but should not affect driver installations.

Correct installing NI System Configuration 5.5 should only upgrade MAX.  It does not contain any drivers.

Hello,

i have had the same problem with MAX after installing LV2012 SP1 Developer Edition (Setup without CVI).

Try to start MAX and got the error messages:

Context where exception was caught:
Func: CmxProviderWrapper::BindPrimary Args: plugin=niRemPXI.mxx niim=0314FC24 outer=01E30538

1. try to rename that DLL mentioned in the post above. Even after renaming that DLL i got:

Context where exception was caught:
Func: CmxProviderWrapper::BindPrimary Args: plugin=niRemPXI.mxx niim=0350FC24 outer=01D7ECE0

2. try to repair my MAX 5.4 --> NO

3. try to repair my LV2012 SP1 setup incl. f5-Patch --> NO

All that didn't help.

4. Upgrade to MAX 5.5 --> YES

After that MAX starts without any error messages. Hope that helps anyone.

Stefan
