(remaining platform compatibility). The better way would be to maintain
compatibility I think. Probably I'll stick to the built in dialog
because of this. Thanks for your reply.
Please
note that the Browse for Folder function in Windows has only really
become useful as of Windows 2000 or something. Before it was a tiny,
non resizable dialog that never would fit my needs in a disk hierarchy
with more than 10-20 folders per hierarchy level and/or more than 3 or
4 hierarchy levels.
It is also not a system dialog but one implemented on top of the kernel
in shell32 and as such is actually really part of the explorer
application Microsoft decided to make an integral part of Windows.
