The attached VI causes LV 2010 SP1 to crash.

I was able to reproduce the crash.  I wonder why you're deleting something immediately after creating it, though.

The real code doesn't delete immediately after creating.

I carved out all the code except what was necessary to show the bug.

I have verified the crash and reported it as CAR #293273.  Thanks for posting!  I especially appreciate your effort to make reproducing it so easy.
