Installation NI CompactRIO-9030

Hi,

I have recently bought NI-CompactRIO-9030. I have installed all required software before to turn on the power. Then, chassis has connected to Laptop with A and B USB cable which is detected in MAX. But I cannot see the modules such as 9223 or etc. I want to know that how to find modules in MAX and use self-test and panel test! In meanwhile, chassis and modules are detected in Labview. But I want to see the modules in Max then I can use it in Signal Express for acquiring signals!

Hi Asgar,

 

you don't see any modules in MAX.

You will see these modules in your RT project once you included your RT target (aka your cRIO9030) and then searched for attached modules…

 

But I want to see the modules in Max then I can use it in Signal Express for acquiring signals! 

You should use a cDAQ device instead to be able to use the modules with MAX/SignalExpress…

Thank you. Yes, I saw it in RT project in Labview. I only want to acquire signals and save it in Labview, I don't generate any signals, It must be very simple. Later on I want use SEA9744 module to send data by wireless (I am not in that stage yet).

 

I used >Find examples>CompactRio>9223BNC

 

After that I changed the IP address which is same in MAX for chassis and run it, after the compiler is finished and successfully done, the error is the modules is not connected. That's way I am thinking that the moduels connects have some problems.

Do you have this module attached in your cRIO?

Did you included your cRIO in the LabVIEW project?

Did you scan your cRIO target for it's modules?

Did you recompile the project without problems?

 

There is so much unknown of your problem you should really investigate. There are also AppNotes to learn how to use cRIO/Realtime the first time…

Yes I did.

Did you included your cRIO in the LabVIEW project?

Yes. see attached file.

Did you scan your cRIO target for it's modules?

Yes.

Did you recompile the project without problems?

Yes it is completely successful. 

My problem is that I cannot see the chassis in resource parameter to select!!

Please help me.. refer to the attached file.

Hi Asgar,

 

the project you compiled and deployed is made for a cRIO9068.

Your resource tree is showing a cRIO9030!

 

Apart from this mismatch I still don't get your problem completely…

I am using 9223 BNC module in my chassis (find example> 9223 BNC starting) in labview to use cRIO 9030 for measuring data in labview. 

First of all, I created a project from 9223 BNC in labview and then I changed the IP of RT CompactRio Target which is successfully connected and later I use the FPGA to run and measure the data. But I cannot changed the chassis name based on model in NI MAX.

Hi Asgar,

 

remove the RT target from your project, then add you other real one.

Or create a new project from scratch…

Thank you. My program is working very well and I can see the data. But I don't know how to save data in format of TDMS in labview. File attached. Any suggestion? Thanks

Hi Asgar,

When you "don't know" you should examine the example VIs coming with LabVIEW.

There are examples demonstrating how to use TDMS file functions…

(Keep in mind: your RIO doesn't have access to your PC's harddrive. It can only save files on its own drive!)

Are you talking about that image of your frontpanel? What should we do with it? Play with Photoshop???

Suggestion: When you have problems with your VI you should attach your VI…
