Hi Alex,

I'm not very familiar with linux but this seems to me like a typical file permission problem.

You could try change the permission of the installer using chmod.

Hope this helps,

Christian

May I know how to use the chmod.

It is said ubuntu only support .deb install file, but the ones on CD is .rpm.

It should not work with ubuntu. .rpm is generally for fedora or suse distributions.

There is a package called "alien" which allows deb based distros to install rpm-based packages.

Search on the Internet for how to use it.

I'm not saying it'll work straight away, but others have had the same problem and have managed to get it working.  Don't have any links though, sorry.

Shane.

I have had it successfully install before but i cant remember if i used alien or just ran the ./install script.  However someone in this thread has got it running on ubuntu 64.  You may not run into the 32/64 bit library issue but if you do the solution is in this thread also.

Also make sure you use the "./" in front of the install command like so.

sudo ./install

It's not. ALL discussions regarding the beta are supposed to take place in the beta forum. I'm surprised Christian discussed this on an open forum.
