IP Edimax and Foscam cameras in labview

Hello,

I have 2 types of IP cameras which are:

Edimax and Foscam

I need to interface them in Labview, but when I tried to register them in NI Max , they did not appear there.

the pc cameras are there, but these 2 new camers where not there.

so is there any way to make them appear in labview NI max .

or is there any way to interface them in labview directly ?

Thanks alot

Hi warda_ez,

Do your cameras show up in your Devices list in your Control Panel?  If they do, then the reason your cameras are not showing up in NI MAX could be the camera file.  Every camera needs a camera file to work with National Instruments software.  The IMAQ drivers come bundled with many common camera files, but it seems like the Edimax and Foscam cameras are not included.  So if this is the case, it leaves two options:  find the camera file, or generate it yourself.  Many companies have the camera files for their cameras, so contacting Edimax and Foscam directly and asking for it would be a good idea.  Otherwise, you can use our Camera File Generator: https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/19/creating-a-camera-file-using-the-ni-came...

You will need the spec sheet for your cameras to type in the information pertinent to each one.

And also, here's some more information about camera files: https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA03q000000YI74CAG&l=en-US

Good luck!  Let me know if you need further assistance or if this turns out to be incorrect.
